  • What’s Good Friday Bruh?

Lines in GenZ slang By Duke Jeyaraj

There’s something living rent-free in my head – can I share it with you, GenZ?

It’s about Jesus, the one who died on Good Friday and rose again on Easter.

If you tell me that you are not the religious type – let me clap back to say that this about a relationship, not a religion!

I am not capping – I was the CEO of iniquity,

The way I goofed up in life – my life’s maker it was big yikes!

I, sinner, was headed to hell – I was well and truly cooked,

My inner peace went for a toss – I could not buy it back with a tonne of gaup,

But there was this God-in-flesh who loved me – this was no delulu

“I’m finna save the world” – so said Jesus

God in flesh, Jesus, walked around doing good – his character, dripping,

When I got ghosted –  he was my friend closer than a brother,

When I was thinking of suicide following that ick, He gave me life,

When I had several menty B’s, his presence was calmed my nerves,

When I drank the water of sex, drugs, etc. I became thirsty again, but the drink He gave me, was dank, and I was never thirsty again!

That Insta clout was temporary but what Jesus gave me stayed,

I mean, he was the ultimate GOAT, the way, the truth and the life!

Trust me, what he gave me IRL, was indeed better than what the Bible said he would

The Life Jesus gave me was boujee, though not without trials, temptations and tensions,

The potter who has shaped me once again – Jesus is the CEO of that game

A serenity which silver can’t buy, the world can’t take away, this Jesus gave me, IYKYK

To make this all happen, dear Fam, this Jesus went to the Cross, peeps,

The Sinless Lamb of God led to the slaughter – this eternally planned act Jesus simply slayed it,

When the Roman Soldiers roughed him up, Jesus did not get salty,

Sheesh, He loved me and gave himself for me when he died on that cruel Cross,

Now he calls you to repent and come to him – and you don’t want to sleep on his loving call!

May I plead with you, do dismiss what you read as cheugy!
